3 Figures
Acrylic & Charcoal 18x24
For these gesture drawings, I worked from live models using black-and-white acrylic paint and my fingers. Working without a brush challenged me to focus less on perfect lines and more on the body's overall shapes, movement, and form. I then went back in with charcoal to sharpen certain areas and define smaller details within each figure. This exercise was one of the most useful in helping me understand how light and shadow reflect off the body's contours.
