Tea Pot Close Up

Tea Pot Close Up

Charcoal & oil pastels 44x44

For this drawing, instead of rendering another figure, I focused on a detail I may have drawn loosely and not given much attention. My subject was holding a very interesting teapot, which I felt compelled to make the focus of my work. By enlarging it to a 44" x 44" drawing, I feel I successfully took an everyday object you would never look twice at and gave it importance. The real challenge for me was resizing a small object while keeping the proportions correct. I enjoyed the challenge of stepping out of my comfort zone.
